Vietnamese Wedding Kim & Van

When given the opportunity to plan a wedding from a different culture, it is always a joy. You learn to appreciate their customs, traditions and it also gives you a different perspective. Unlike our American wedding ceremonies which are 30 mins, in the Vietnamese culture it is a multiple event! Journey with me through the two tea ceremonies, traditional mass and a 10 course dinner reception!

The first ceremony of the day takes place early at 8AM!!! Was I even woke at 8am on my wedding day??? The groom's family makes a processional to the Bride's home...and they don't come empty handed:)Gifts are presented to the Bride and her family. The Bride received gifts including diamond earrings, necklace and of course a ring...talk about BLING BLING!!

Following the two tea ceremonies, the couple and their family had a traditional Mass at their church. The Bride went through seven dress changes throughout the day!

Now its time to eat and party!!!! My design team transformed the banquet hall with a red carpet entrance, wall drapery, satin linens, chair covers and ceiling drapery. We pulled together a simple back drop for the couple to take pictures with EVERY guest, yes I said every. Talk about working for your wedding gift:) On the menu they had EVERYTHING crab, lobster, Peking duck, Chinese chicken salad and an OPEN bar...talk about a party.

Kim and Van were such a pleasure to work with, I wish them all the best in the coming years!!!

A BIG thank you to my staff for helping me pull everything together and Maty's Chair Covers!!!

Purple+Green=FABUOLOSITY!

At times the oddest items make the greatest designs. When you think of purple and green, then add a peacock feather you may question the combination. Trust the creative mind in your planner to dish out amazing design concepts like the wedding following. Check out these photos and let them inspire you too!

To add more drama, why settle for just one centerpiece design. One may be the design you really want, but it will bust your budget if you had one for every guest table. So opt for a more inexpensive centerpiece. (Floral Design by Apropos for Flowers:)

As if a chandelier wasn't enough, this glam bride wanted total BLING BLING. The added hanging crystals gave the ballroom the extra bling and glam factor!

Great designs and flawless execution makes a happy Bride!

Dre & Laura

Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert

07.18.09

Although the day's high was 106 degrees and I was 9 months pregnant, that did not stop us in pulling off another well coordinated wedding for Laura and Dre. As the sun began to set guest arrived and the smooth music filled the air. Laura was a beautuful Bride and her style and grace was seen throughout the wedding. I especially love their custom GOBO displayed on the dance floor, it made their first dance even more special.

The couple's bridal party really set off the reception in a real way! Talk about a good looking wedding party!!!

One last thing...the cake taste just as good as it looked!

A special thank you to the vendors that made this wedding such a success!

Nikia & Quddus "Summer of Love"

If there was ever the picture perfect definition of L-O-V-E...Nikia and Quddus are it! As a wedding planner I attend weddings on the regular, so I REALLY have to feel the love to get misty-eyed. They wrote their own vows and maybe that is where the tears began to flow. The weather was warm and love, excitement and friendship was in the air. The rich ruby red and smooth chocolate brown colors gave the wedding a sensual feel.

"Friends...how many of us have them..." Well, to say the least Nikia had 10...yes you heard me right 10 bridesmaids on her side. (just think how many boxes of tissue we went through:)

Besides the couple saying "I-do" the second most exciting part of the night was when the groom surprised his new bride with a 2009 Mercedes C300!!!!!! Talk about upgrade you!!! She was in tears and so were all the guests.

Coordinating this wedding was so much work and FUN! Who said you can't work and have fun at the same time. My staff and I considered it a pleasure to work on this wedding and pray for blessings to follow Mr. & Mrs. Paige.

Sam Hassas www.hassasphotography.com was her exclusive photographer and let me say, these pictures speak for themselves! So please enjoy the story through photography of the wedding of Nikia and Quddus.

Out with the Old (Champange) in with the new (Tequila)

So what do you get when you have a Mexican Bride, Irish Groom, Tequila and love??? You get an awesome wedding!!! Natty & David said their "I do's" at the historic St. Anthony's and then partied Downtown at the Holiday Inn. Instead of the traditional toast, the wedding party took shots of Tequila! Talk about a party?!!! Take a peak at the picture to see how it went.
